UPDATE - Christmas Island Tragedy

Reports that HMAS Pirie asked the vessel in distress to moor are false.

Customs and Border Protection confirms that, in relation to the rescue operation off Christmas Island, neither the HMAS Pirie nor ACV Triton made contact with the vessel nor did they request the vessel to moor.
