information for yachts travelling to australia - safety

Customs strongly recommends that Masters of small craft ensure that voyage details are lodged with local police, volunteer rescue organisations, yacht clubs or friends and relatives who may raise the alarm if you do not arrive as expected.

Any craft carrying Inmarsat-C or HF DSC may take advantage of the AUSREP ship reporting system operated by the Rescue Coordination Centre, RCC Australia.  Details can be obtained from the AUSREP booklet at: http://www.amsa.gov.au/Publications/AUSREP.pdf or by calling RCC Australia on 1800 641 792 or +61 262306811.
