Other information required for annual reporting purposes

This section includes other information that Customs is required to include in its annual report. The areas covered are:

• occupational health and safety performance (as required by section 74 of the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991)
• freedom of information issues (as required by section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982)
• advertising and market research expenditure (as required by section 311A of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918)
• performance with regard to ecologically sustainable development and environmental reporting (as required by section 516A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999).

It also includes information on discretionary grants administered by Customs and errors in the 1999-2000 annual report.
