IMPORT DECLARATION LIST
Previously, when importers or brokers submitted, but did not lodge an import declaration, the only way of finding that incomplete declaration was to have recorded the number assigned when it was first saved.
The Import Declaration List screen enables users to search for and list Incomplete (saved but not submitted) and Submitted (not yet lodged) Import Declarations that have been created in the Customs Interactive (CI). Users can also search for and list Lodged declarations that have been created in the CI and via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
This diagnostic screen is designed for use by importers and brokers to review their "in-progress" import declarations if they are using the CI to transact with Customs.
It is also designed for use by importers and brokers to recall lodged full import declarations and to review the status of the cargo associated with the declaration.
This search functionality also allows users to quickly determine the status of their declarations.
Note: the search will only return records for which the user is the Document Owner.
To locate an import declaration:
Step 1. From the main menu, click on Imports, click on Diagnostics and then click on Import Declaration List.
The Import Declaration Search/List screen displays.
The Import Declaration Search/List screen allows users to search for incomplete and submitted declarations that have been created in the Customs Interactive, as well as lodged declarations created via CI or EDI.
The top part of this screen is the "Search Criteria" section where users can either accept the default search criteria or enter new ones to narrow down the list of records to be recalled.
The search criteria default to:
* Include: Incomplete/Submitted
* Nature Type: ALL
* Mode of Transport: ALL
Step 2. To view a list of all incomplete/submitted declarations lodged by the user, click on the Search button. Refer to Step 12.
Note: only declarations that have been created in the Customs Interactive, or that have been lodged in EDI but are in the process of being amended via CI, will display.
Performing a search using the Customs Document ID
Entering a Customs document identifier enables the ICS to look for one specific document.
Step 3. In the Declaration ID field, enter the identifier that relates to the required document. Refer to Step 12.
Performing a Search with multiple criteria
If the Customs document identifier is lost or unknown, a search can be performed for an import declaration using a range of criteria.
Searching with multiple criteria will often return multiple results. When this occurs the Import Document List screen displays with all of the import declarations matching the search criteria.
Step 4. In the Include field, select either Incomplete/Submitted or Lodged.
Step 5. (Optional) In the Broker Reference field, enter the unique reference assigned to the consignment by the broker.
Step 6. Select the Matches Exactly or the Starts With radio button to define the parameters of the Broker Reference search. Selecting the Starts With option will cause the search to return all records that start with the entered value, eg entering ABC will return ABCA, ABCB etc.
Step 7. In the Nature Type field, click on the drop-down button and select one of the following options:
If the search is for incomplete/submitted declarations:

Step 9. (Optional) In the Importer ABN/CCID field, enter the Australian Business Number (ABN) or Customs Client Identifier (CCID) for the importer.
Note: the Importer ABN/CCID can be found using a search. Click on the 'find' hyperlink to go to the search screen. Enter the desired details and initiate the search. On return to the Import Declaration Search/List screen the field will be populated with the selected value.
Step 10. (Optional) In the Branch ID field, enter the document owner's branch identifier.
Step 11. (Conditional) In the Arrival Date From and To fields, enter a date range on which to base the search. This date range should refer to the date of arrival of the cargo and must be no more than 31 days. The arrival date fields are mandatory when searching for Lodged declarations, but disallowed when searching for Incomplete/Submitted declarations.
Note: if the selected Nature Type is N30, the Arrival Date fields become Creation Date fields.
Step 12. Click on the Search button.
